Manager, Data Integration - Production
Must be adept at working in a collaborative/problem solving team environment to interact directly with Scarsin’s clients to collect and analyze their data requirements.

Key Role

The successful candidate must be adept at working in a collaborative/problem solving team environment to interact directly with Scarsin’s clients to collect and analyze their data requirements.  The role requires strong proficiency in data management practices and ETL (Extract, Transform and Load), the process in data warehousing responsible for pulling data out of the source systems and placing it into I2E. The new staff member will work directly with the Director, Data Integration to develop and maintain data integration solutions using Scarsin's proprietary i2e system.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Work

  • Works directly with Project Managers, Clients and other functional areas to establish Service-Level Agreements (SLAs);
  • Ensures SLAs are delivered accurately and on time;
  • Tracks project tasks, deadlines and assigns to data analysts;
  • Ensures proper communication with clients and between other functional areas;
  • Ensures that all client billable work is logged in OnTime.

DI Processes & Procedures

  • Establishes Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) with clients and maintains documentation;
  • Ensures SLAs are delivered accurately and on time;
  • Ensures SLAs are properly communicated internally and with clients;
  • Manages production checklists;
  • Manages DQM (Data Quality Management) procedures and processes;
  • Tracks data related incidents and takes corrective actions to prevent further incidents;
  • Monitors production efficiency and continues to improve processes;
  • Manages TPAs (Third Party Agreements) and monitors to ensure Scarsin is always compliant;
  • Tracks and maintains data file inventory across all projects;
  • Performs UAT (User Acceptance Testing) tasks on new i2e releases as outlined by QA (Quality Assurance) team.

Develops and Manages Team

  • Manages a team of data analysts;
  • Provides team with appropriate level of support and mentoring;
  • Maintains a team schedule, tracking tasks and deadlines;
  • Conducts performance reviews bi-annually with direct reports;
  • Conducts weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports;
  • Conducts interviews for new hires;
  • Works with Director to establish and report DI quarterly goals;
  • Works with clients to understand their data requirements;
  • Collects data, analyzes trends, draws conclusions and make recommendations;
  • Performs data validation and analysis;
  • Performs various other duties as delegated or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

The successful incumbent will have:

  • A post-secondary diploma/degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration and/or Engineering fields;
  • At least 3 years in a management role within a technical organization (i.e. software, data, etc.);
  • At least 5 years working experience in the following:
    • Data management, data analysis and ETL process skills and concepts including data modeling and transformations;
    • Proven advanced working skills in Microsoft Excel (macros, advanced functions and pivot tables);
  • An up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies with proven aptitude to learn new software applications quickly;
  • Demonstrated ability to share knowledge, mentor, assist and support other team members;
  • Proven, motivated self-starter with the ability to lead by example with excellent investigative and business problem solving skills with rapid turnaround times and ever-changing priorities;
  • Demonstrated time management, detail-orientation, and decision-making competencies and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment by managing several concurrent projects while providing realistic delivery dates and managing stakeholder expectations;
  • Proven effective presentation, analytical and customer relationship abilities with excellent communication skills, highly competent interacting with clients, vendors and colleagues;
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and research problems of a complex nature, make decisions and/or present recommendations;
  • Ability to work autonomously and in collaborative teams to effectively prioritize multiple projects and associated deliverables;
  • Proven ability to easily learn new tools, industries, and technologies;
  • Experience with the following is strongly preferred and an asset to this role:
    • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft BI/ETL tools (SSIS, SSAS);
    • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry;
    • Experience with MDX/DAX;
    • Experience with dashboard tools.
